NMIMS was founded in 1981 and received deemed-to-be-university status in 2003. Its Centre for Distance and Online Education began its distance and online learning journey in 2013, and offers business and commerce degrees.

Entry requirements by programme
MBA ↗
Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from recognised University or an equivalent degree recognised by Association of Indian Universities (AIU) with minimum 50% marks at Graduation Level (45% for SC/ST/OBC/PwD).
Executive MBA — Working Executives ↗
Bachelor's Degree (10+2+3) in any discipline from a recognized university, minimum 55% (50% for SC/ST/OBC/PwD) and 3+ years of work experience.
